One of the most important maintenance items for your lawn tractor is replacing the filters regularly. Cub cadet air filters are inexpensive and changing them regularly will not only increase the life of your mower but also cut down on expensive repairs. Changing the air filter is a fairly easy task for the DIY'er. Just follow these easy steps:
1. Open the hood and locate the air filter housing (make sure the engine is cool first!)
2. Loosen the knob on the air filter cover and remove it
3. Remove the small seal from the top of the air filter and remove the wing nut under it
4. Remove the filter (be sure not to let any leaves, dirt or other debris fall in to the hole!)
5. Insert the new filter and replace the wing nut
6. Replace the seal and cover
